My partner and I visited the club several times during our trip and had a great experience each night. The venue is huge, with a spacious main room hosting shows, a drag competition, and even an alien-themed night. Beyond that, there are lots of smaller rooms and dance spaces, each with different music, atmospheres, and crowds, so there’s really something for everyone who enjoys clubbing. There’s also an outdoor area with a DJ, food options, a rooftop, and gogo dancers, which added to the experience. The staff were friendly throughout—both the bar staff and security—and the entry process was very well organised. We arrived around 11pm on our first Friday when it was quieter (though still lively), then between midnight and 1am on the following Friday and Saturday when it was much busier. Even then, getting in was easy and efficient. The bar system works well: you pay for drinks at one end and collect them at the other using your receipt. The cocktails were strong enough to leave us with a bit of a hangover, so on later nights we switched to buying a bottle with mixers to top up throughout the evening—which seemed to be what many locals were doing! Colombians definitely know how to party. What we liked most was the variety across the venue. Some rooms felt more gay-focused than others, while some had a more mixed crowd, so the atmosphere changes depending on where you go
Place is awesome! Didn’t felt unsafe wasn’t extremely packed it was very nice good music for everyone! Servers are fast and clean. They sell you bottles, cigarettes, merch, everything you could imagine so cool!!!
Amazing place. Just go. Huge, tons of people, many different areas and environments. Shows are outta this world! Worth sticking around for. Always a fun time. Went in 2018 and just now again for Gaylien Halloween Party! Always a great time! Nowhere else like it.
Theatron: A Nightlife City Under One Roof If you are looking for the absolute pinnacle of nightlife in Bogotá—and arguably all of Latin America—Theatron is the destination. Located in the heart of the Chapinero district, this massive complex isn't just a club; it’s a legendary "mega-complex" that feels more like a small, neon-soaked city. The Atmosphere The scale of Theatron is hard to grasp until you're inside. Built within an old movie theater, it now boasts 13 to 20 distinct rooms (depending on the night and special events) spread across five levels. Each room has its own personality, décor, and music genre. The energy is electric and incredibly inclusive. While it is the heart of Bogotá’s LGBTQ+ scene, it welcomes everyone. On a Saturday night, you might be dancing alongside 5,000 other people, yet because of the layout, you can always find a "vibe" that suits your mood. The Music & Rooms The beauty of Theatron is the variety. You can literally "travel" through different musical landscapes without ever leaving the building: Main Room: High-production light shows, professional dancers, and the latest pop/electronic hits. La Terraza: A massive rooftop area perfect for reggaeton, Latin hits, and catching your breath under the stars. Themed Rooms: Dedicated spaces for Salsa, 80s/90s classics, Techno, Rock, and even "Women Only" or "Men Only" floors on certain nights. Insider Tips for 2026 The "Open Bar" (Barra Libre): On many Saturdays, your cover charge includes "all you can drink" (selected domestic spirits and beers) until about 2:00 AM. It’s a great value, but the lines at the bars can get long, so plan accordingly. Entry Requirements: You must bring a physical ID (Passport or Cédula). Photos of IDs are often rejected at the door. Timing: Arrive before 10:00 PM to avoid the massive lines and take advantage of lower cover prices. The club doesn't truly peak until midnight. Safety: They have a solid security presence, and there is a mandatory cloakroom (guardarropa). Use it for your jackets and bags so you can move freely through the labyrinthine corridors. Final Verdict Theatron is a "bucket list" experience. Even if you aren't a massive club-goer, the sheer architectural spectacle and the joyful, diverse atmosphere make it worth the visit. It is loud, chaotic, and beautiful—a true reflection of Bogotá's vibrant spirit.
We had an amazing time! The place had such a cool vibe with lots of different music styles – something for everyone. We had fun everywhere we went. The wait at the bar was a bit long at the very beginning, but it got better quickly. Overall, a fantastic night
